How we accomplish this:
We desire for every disciple of Christ to
serve together and build the Kingdom of God.
In 1892, Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church was constituted with the Chattahoochee Baptist Association on land generously given by Mr. William Floyd Tanner, valued at $200. In June 1959, a new 300-seat sanctuary was completed, which is still in use today as our Chapel for student ministry and special events. Over the years, a three-story education building was added—now serving as staff offices and student small group space—and tremendous growth in the 1990s led the church to step out in faith to build a 30,000-square-foot facility with a new worship center, fellowship hall, and education space. This building was later remodeled and expanded into our current main building. An additional 120,000 square feet was added with adult small group rooms, a café, gym, preschool area, and new lobbies. Today, Chestnut Mountain Church continues to grow and live out the mission God has given us as we seek His direction and saturate the world with the Good News.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in and related through three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three are co-equal and are one God. God is holy; He
is set apart from all creation. God is sovereign; He is just in all of His ways.
(Genesis 1:1; Psalm 24:1; Psalm 90:2; Genesis 1:2,26; Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; Leviticus 11:44; 1 Samuel 2:2; Psalm 99:3; Isaiah 55:9; Luke 1:35; Revelation 4:8; Psalm 135:6; Proverbs 16:9; Lamentations 3:37)
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus was incarnated through the virgin birth. He lived a sinless human life. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for
the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
(John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Colossians 1:15; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Hebrews 1:3; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; Hebrews 7:26; Hebrews 4:14-15; Isaiah 53; Romans 4:25; Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 John 2:2; Hebrews 10:1-18; Luke 24:36-49; John 11:25-26; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Luke 22:69; Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:9-11; Acts 2:33; Ephesians 1:20-23; Hebrews 1:3; Revelation 21:1-5)
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because the Bible is inspired by God, it is the Truth without any mixture of error.
(Psalm 119:105; John 14:25-26; John 16:12-15; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Samuel 7:28; Proverbs 30:5; Psalm 12:6; Psalm 18:30; Psalm 19:7-10; Psalm 119:160; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 1:13; Titus 1:2-3)
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
(Genesis 1:2; Psalm 104:30; Isaiah 40:13-14; Matthew 3:16-17; Hebrews 9:14; John 16:7-11; 2 Corinthians 4:3-6; Luke 24:49; John 14:16-17; Ephesians 1:13-14; John 14:16-17, 26-27; John 16:13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 3:16-17; Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:25)
Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ can one be saved by sin's penalty through God's forgiveness. We turn from our self and turn to Jesus, by faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith and is best professed publicly through baptism by immersion.
(Romans 5:1-2; Romans 6:23; John 1:12, John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 1:9; Galatians 3:26; Titus 3:5-7)
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although we are created in His image, sin fractured the world and left us in
desperate need of salvation.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:22; Psalm 8:3-6; Genesis 3; Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3)

(Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:22; Psalm 8:3-6; Genesis 3; Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3)
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
(Genesis 2:17; John 3:16,36; Romans 6:23; Matthew 6:10; Matthew 13:42,50; Matthew 18:8-9; Luke 16:19-31; Luke 23:43; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:15; Revelation 21:1)
We are committed to extend the loved and grace of Christ to all people. We also are committed to stand on the truth of the Bible. We believe that the institution of marriage is designed by God to be
between one man and one woman. Chestnut Mountain Church does not allow the practice of same sex marriages at any venue on our campus, nor do we allow any of our pastors to perform same sex marriages away from our campus.
